I have a love for engineering, whether it's small and intricate or large and powerful, i've always been interested in how engines and machines work and how to repair them. My main interests are in Land Rovers, Lorries and most importantly, Steam Engines. Being an Ipswich man, I'm proud of Ipswich's history of Ransomes Sims and Jeffries and numerous other machine manufacturers nearby such as Garrets of leiston, Davey Paxman of Colchester and Burrell of Thetford.

The Victorian pride for engineering has long since been lost. But at Suffolk E.P. pride is taken in everything we do. The majority of our machines, vehicles and tools have been made, improved or serviced by us. Where possible, vintage machines are put to use, such as our cast iron arbor press or our Drummond 1919 lathe. Saying that, the modern welders and grinders cannot be faulted

I have owned Land Rovers since even before I had passed my driving test. I love their character, simplicity and the usablity. My first Land Rover was a 1976 LWB hard top diesel, This left a lot to be desired so I moved on to another LWB diesel which had had a new chassis fitted, this was a superb vehicle and it worked for me for a while until it was replaced by my first 110. Here are some photo's of some of my previous Land Rovers.

in addition to owning Land Rovers, I have also restored and repaired a few. "DEXY" seen below, is a 1982 swb series 3 truck cab which I restored.

Dexy was sold to a gentleman in Bedfordshire who runs it to date. Something that I restored for personal use is my 3/4 ton military sankey trailer. Which I still use for light towing duties.
