Although as a business we do not undertake restorations or repairs. I personally have undertaken restorations of my own vehicles for my own use.

I decided to buy a Sankey trailer for moving engines about and for similar towing duties. I found one trailer with a good body and one with a good chassis. The two were stripped repaired and rebuilt as one.

The good chassis had several layers of paint, which was difficult to clean off but had preserved the metal well. It also had a proper NATO coupling and a lot of the original attachments like tying down points and supporting legs.

New bearings were fitted into the axles and the old grease replaced with new. The brakes were freed off and cleaned. The frame was red oxide primed and painted in NATO green to match the body. The chassis was reassembled and the body from the donor trailer fitted. New hinged were made to incorporate the extra wide rear tailgate which is very handy for loading.

Shot blasted wheels and new tyres were fitted. Due to the extra wide tailgate. Two steel box section lengths were used to make light pods for the indicator and brake lamps.
